French automaker Renault that sells its compact SUV Duster both in India and some global markets. is now planning to give it a facelift. A Brazilian auto portal has got the images and launch details of the 2014 Renault Duster. According to the website, the car will make its way in early 2014, so we can expect the similar vehicle to come in India as well. And like we reported it earlier that there will also be a 4WD option of the car at around the time when Ford EcoSport will be launched.
The released pictures suggest the car to have taken inspiration from the Renault DCross concept, which was unveiled at the this year's Sao Paulo Motor Show. The 2014 Duster has recieved some changes both inside and out, helping it look better and more plush than before. It recieves a new headlamp design, revamped front grille and new front and rear bumper design, and possibly a different tail gate. On the inside as well, the 2014 Duster will get a revised dashboard and more features.
If we look at the current version's dashboard, the touch screen display is given lower to the centre console unlike the trend, so we can expect the compact SUV to get it on the top this time for better and easier control access. And like we said it in our last report that there might not be an automatic diesel version in India, which many in the industry are claiming to come, so don't expect that to happen at least with this generation of the car.
First the 4WD version in 2013, and then a major facelift in early 2014 will certainly help Renault to maintain the growing sales numbers, and that's a necessity as well for Renault, as its closest competitor Ford EcoSport is now all set to unearth in India.
