2014 Volkswagen Polo spied inside-out

The upcoming Polo face-lift has been spied completely inside-out recently in India; hinting towards the launch of the updated premium hatch in a couple of months. Need not to mention, Volkswagen introduced the Polo facelift at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. Though, the car receives mild facelift externally, things under the hood will be a whole new territory. The diesel Polo is likely to be powered by a new 1.5 TDI unit!

Exterior changes in 2014 VW Polo facelift

• The biggest change you will notice in the mid-life is the front profile.
• Though the design of bumper is kept same but entire fog lamp housing and air dam is redesigned. The bumper features a chrome appliqué that runs through the entire profile enclosing the new fogs at end.
• The dual slat chrome grille is replaced by a single chrome lining at the bottom.
• The car sports new blacked-out double barrel headlamps with silver accents.
• The spied Polo rides on a 15 inch radials and a new set of silver alloys, except this the side profile is kept unaltered.
• The rear features an entirely new bumper with reflector and subtle changes are made to the taillamps.
• The spied car is a petrol Polo although Volkswagen badging is missing its just has a Polo badge.

Interior changes in 2014 VW Polo facelift

• The facelifted car carry forwards the current Polo dashboard with new shades and a brand new steering wheel. The 'premium quotient' of the Polo has certainly increased.
• The central console now features a silver shade while the audio system and automatic AC controls are borrowed from the on-going version.
• The highlight of the update inside is the new multi-function three spoke steering wheel that features lot of chrome lining with piano black inserts.
• The steering is wrapped in black leather seems to be top spec Polo petrol.
• The dials receive elusive changes while the DIS (Driver information system) got bigger. Expect new back-lit for the instrumentation cluster.
• The car continues to offers beige at the bottom of the dash with plenty of chrome lining surrounds.
• The Polo facelift will receive new upholstery. 

Engine details

• The car is reportedly receiving a new 1.5 liter turbo diesel. The engine will belt out power in the vicinity of 90bhp while torque will be in excess of 200Nm.
• In Polo GT TDI, this same motor will generate power equivalent to Vento 1.6 TDI.
• On petrol front, the car will continue to carry the 1.2 TSI, however, it would be the 1.2 naturally aspirated one.
• The transmission of the new Polo will be the 7-speed DSG and five speed manual.
