The Rear-Wheel-Driven Bimmer is getting a midlife uplift, launch early next year!
BMW has started testing the facelifted version of 1 Series hatch, both the 3-doors (not available in India) and the 5-doors are currently on test. The 1 Series hatch is getting a mid-life refresh and is expected to launch early next year at some auto show. Moreover, Indian launch of this 2015 1 Series is likely to happen after the global preview. BMW will preview the 1-series sedan version next year, the facelifted hatch could be revealed along sedan.
What are the changes?
What we can assume is that the bimmer is getting what BMW is doing nowadays with its lineup - aggressive appeal, edgier and meaner stance! Expect refreshed bumpers and the new kidney grille which connects with headlight just like all the recent BMWs. The interiors are also getting a slight makeover according to the spy shots.
What’s under the hood?
The new 2015 1 Series is likely to get new powerplants, diesel expected to remain same while for petrol trims, BMW’s new motors that power the 2015 Mini is likely to hop-in. In India, BMW 1 Series is currently available with a 1.6-liter petrol and 2.0-liter diesel turbocharged engines. Both the engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission which will be carried forward.
