2015 BMW 6 Series Family along with M cousins unveiled

BMW 6 Series models have so far been perfectly balancing the luxury quotient and sports performance. Now with the unveiling of the 2015 model, the 6 Series looks much sharper too. BMW has taken the covers off the new BMW 6 Series Convertible, new BMW 6 Series Coupe and new BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe along with their respective M6 cousins. Along with new styling, the 2015 6 Series also get new tech features as standard. Engine range for the normal 6 Series consist of a V8 producing 445 hp and a 315 hp inline six-cylinder while the M6 cousins get a 560 hp 4.4-liter M turbocharged V8 engine.
The new 6 gets refreshed BMW kidney grille design, new front and rear aprons that accentuate the width of the body, larger tailpipe embellishers for all six-cylinder models, newly developed full-LED headlights and 20-inch light-alloy wheels as standard. Options include adaptive LED Headlights with BMW Selective Beam anti-dazzle High Beam Assistant and exclusive multi-spoke alloy wheel. New paint choices include Jatoba metallic, Cashmere Silver metallic, Glacier Silver metallic, Mediterranean Blue metallic and Melbourne Red metallic.
Inside, the new 6 Series gets exclusive ambience and new high-quality surfaces while bi-colour leather trim is available as an option. High-gloss black surfaces are used in the center console around the controls for the audio system and air conditioning while LED lights are used for the illumination of the footwells, door exits and glove compartment. Customers can also make use of the Design Pure Experience and Design Pure Excellence equipment lines and other extended range of BMW Individual options.
The engine range for the new 6 Series include a V8 producing 445 hp and a 315 hp inline six-cylinder, both fitted with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology and an eight-speed Steptronic sport transmission. All the models are rear wheel driven, a customary for BMW models, while the new BMW 6 Series model variants can also be specified with the BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system. The BMW xDrive also improves the 0 to 60 mph performance of all the 6 Series models with the V8 BMW 650i xDrive Coupe and BMW 650i xDrive Gran Coupe, able to complete the sprint in 4.3 seconds.
All the petrol models of the new 6 Series now get a sports exhaust system that provides an emotionally dramatic soundtrack in Sport and Sport+ modes. Other driving features include Dynamic Damper Control, Adaptive Drive system which includes Active Roll Stabilization and Integral Active Steering. Driver assistance systems come in the form of BMW ConnectedDrive with Head-Up Display, Speed Limit Info, Lane Departure Warning system, Park Distance Control, BMW Night Vision system, Active Cruise Control Stop & Go + Active Driving Assistant safety package, Pedestrian and Collision Warning system with Braking function.
The new M6
BMW has also unveiled the new M6 Coupe, M6 Convertible and M6 Gran Coupe. The M6 models get new, standard-fitted LED headlights, M-specific double-bar kidney grille, front apron with large air intakes, sculpted front wings with hallmark M gills with integrated side indicators), side skirts and the exclusive forged 19-inch M light-alloy wheels (BMW M6 Gran Coupe exclusive forged 20-inch M light-alloy wheels), rear apron with integrated diffuser insert, two sets of M-specific twin tailpipes and the M6 logo on the boot lid. As an exclusive M feature, the new BMW M6 Coupe and new BMW M6 Gran Coupe get ultra-lightweight contoured carbon roof.
Highlights of the interiors are the M leather steering wheel with shift paddles for the M Double Clutch Transmission with Drivelogic and M Drive, M gearshift lever, special M instrument cluster, enhanced-style iDrive screen, center console in black panel look and an M-specific Head-Up Display, full-leather interior appointments with contrast stitching for the electrically adjustable M multifunction seats, illuminated M door sill finishers with M6 logo and an M driver's footrest.
All the M6 models are fitted with 4.4-liter M turbocharged V8 engine that pumps out 560 hp between 6000-7000 rpm and 680 Nm of peak torque at 1500-5750 rpm. All this power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT) with Drivelogic. The M6 can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds in the Coupe and Gran Coupe version while the Convertible makes it in 4.3 seconds.
