The Fluidic design philosophy is the main reason behind the success story of the South Korean automaker, Hyundai, which has launched several products adopting this design. The current model of the company's flagship premium saloon was first introduced in 2009, and now the vehicle is due for a complete model change in 2015. According to some media reports, Hyundai is all set to adopt a refurbished version of the Fluidic design structure for the all-new 2015 Sonata. A couple of days back, the company previewed the new Genesis sedan, adopting the company's famous Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 (revised architecture), and it is expected that the new Sonata will also adorns the same.

With new fluidic sculpture, the company will provide the new Sonata a more steady design language, which is missing in the current model. Like new Genesis, the premium saloon is expected to receive the refined design elements, singular hexagonal grille and rich color, material and finishing of the car.

The 2015 Sonata is also likely to get several changes both inside and outside, and will also sports various new comfort features. The engine specification is expected to remain the same, however the powertrain will be tweaked to offer higher performance. If it carries the current model, the new Sonata will not be available with the diesel version, which is the main reason why the vehicle failed to generate any buzz in India.

In India, the current Sonata model is powered by a 2.4-litre petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 199bhp and 255Nm of top torque. The vehicle is now available in both transmission options - a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic.
