Skoda Fabia was the sole vehicle out of 14 small car tested by Euro NCAP last year to get full overall 5-star rating!
Skoda’s third generation Fabia scored full 5-star Euro NCAP rating in tests becoming the safest vehicle in its category, since no other hatchback received full 5- star rating last year. The Euro NCAP evaluation is based on the results in the categories of passenger protection for adults and children, pedestrian protection and supporting safety systems. And in 2014, 14 small cars were tested at the Euro NCAP and none of the vehicles scored five stars. With the new Fabia, entire Skoda range is now five star Euro NCAP rated, starting from Citigo to Superb.
“With innovative safety systems and a comprehensive safety package, our new model is setting standards in its segment. Receiving the award for being the safest small car in the Euro NCAP crash tests confirms this once again,” said Dr. Frank Welsch, ŠKODA Board Member for Technical Development.
Adding on this context, 2015 Skoda Fabia comes standard with six-airbags - front, side and head, protecting passengers in combination with five three-point seat belts. Moreover, the third-gen Fabia feature a multi-collision braking system which reduces the risk of a subsequent collision following an accident. There’s also an optional Driver Activity Assistant (fatigue recognition system) along with safety systems like - speed limiter, Hill Hold Control and an electronic tyre pressure monitoring system.
