Volkswagen launched the updated Polo and Vento a couple of days prior to the Auto Expo. The show car at the 2016 Auto Expo featured tweaked headlamps with daytime running LEDs. However, the German automaker did not mention anything about the updated headlamps at the time of launch. VW might offer it in the 2016 Vento, in order to differentiate it better between Polo and the upcoming Ameo compact sedan. And if this is the case, it does make the Vento stand out, making it in-line with the Jetta and the upcoming Passat (see the image below). It is most likely that this headlight is only specific to the Highline trim or even might come as optional.
Besides this, Vento featured all the updates mentioned in the press statement. The highlight was the much-needed touchscreen infotainment system. The new unit also comes with Mirror Link connectivity, which mirrors your smartphone screen onto the touchscreen. It also comes with auto-dimming interior rearview mirror along with rain-sensing wipers.
Mechanically, Vento remained unaltered, it has chosen to move forward with 1.6-litre naturally aspirated and 1.2-liter TSi petrol along with 1.5-liter TDi. In terms of transmission, it offers the same 5-Speed manual and 7-Speed dual-clutch DSG gearbox.
