The past week in the Indian car industry saw major updates on new and upcoming models, along with some important official announcements, including one from the Delhi government. Kia has finally teased the electric version of its new Carens Clavis MPV, while Tata has revealed key details about the upcoming Harrier EV. Mahindra and MG weren’t far behind either, as Mahindra rolled out a key update for two of its EVs and MG showcased what will be the largest MPV in India as yet.

Kia Carens Clavis EV Teased Ahead Of Launch
Kia officially teased the upcoming Carens Clavis EV ahead of its launch on July 15, marking its entry into the mass-market electric space in India. The teaser reveals key design elements and its battery pack and claimed range which seemed to be borrowed from the Hyundai Creta Electric. Select dealerships across have already begun unofficial bookings.
Mahindra XEV 9e & BE 6 Pack Two Updates
Mahindra has introduced the larger 79 kWh battery pack option for the XEV 9e and BE 6’s mid-spec Pack Two variants. It was earlier limited to their top-spec Pack Three variants only. The Pack Two with the larger battery is priced at Rs 1.60 lakh more than the standard 59 kWh pack, while the bigger battery becomes more accessible to buyers now.
Mahindra has also teased its all-new compact SUV platform as well as an SUV concept, both of which will be showcased on August 15, 2025.
Toyota Innova Hycross Crash Tested By Bharat NCAP
The Toyota Innova Hycross has earned a five-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP, making it the first MPV tested under this program to achieve top marks in both adult and child protection. It scored an impressive 30.47 out of 32 for adult occupant protection and 45 out of 49 for child occupant safety.
Tata Harrier EV Stealth Edition Prices Out
The Tata Harrier EV Stealth Edition’s prices have been announced, which start from Rs 28.24 lakh. It is based on the top-spec Empowered variant and comes with only the bigger battery pack option in both RWD and AWD versions. It features a matte black exterior, blacked-out alloy wheels, Stealth Edition badges, and an all-black cabin. The Harrier EV Stealth Edition is priced Rs 75,000 higher than the standard version.
That said, the Harrier EV’s bookings are underway, and its production has also begun, with deliveries expected to commence this month itself.
India-Bound MG M9 Features And Specifications Revealed
MG has revealed the India-spec M9 electric MPV, which was earlier showcased at the Auto Expo 2025. The premium MPV brings a luxurious cabin loaded with features, some of which are also first-time additions to the carmaker’s India lineup. The M9 will arrive as a single fully loaded variant with a 90 kWh battery pack.
Nissan Magnite CNG Is Now Available In More States
Nissan has now made the Magnite’s dealership-fitted CNG kit available in additional states across India, expanding its reach beyond the initial regions like Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka. It demands an additional cost of Rs 75,000 over the standard version.
Delhi Withdraws Fuel Ban On Old Vehicles
The Delhi government has revoked its fuel ban on end-of-life petrol and diesel vehicles just days after its introduction, following a public backlash. Over 62 lakh vehicles had been affected, with more than 60 two-wheelers and a dozen four-wheelers being seized. The seized vehicles can be reclaimed, but will not be allowed to be driven on roads.
