The all-new Elite i20, which was spotted testing with rear disc brakes in India, has now been spotted on international soil. The latest spy shots reveal an all-new digital instrument cluster and other interesting details. So, keep scrolling to know more.
The all-new digital instrument cluster houses a colour multi-info display (MID) at the centre flanked by the speedometer and tachometer. As a digital display is visible at the centre of the speedometer, we expect one at the other end too. From the spy shots, we can also see the temperature gauge placed on the bottom right side of the tachometer. However, we will have to wait to see whether the two meters are digital too.
Expect the new i20 to get a bigger 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system like the Venue. It will also have physical button for certain functions as seen in the picture. The new hatchback is also expected to feature the Venue’s BlueLink connected car technology with an eSIM.

The current 1.2-litre petrol engine (83PS/115Nm) is likely to be carried forward, while 1.4-litre diesel unit (90PS/220Nm) will be discontinued. Instead, expect Hyundai to offer it with the Kia Seltos’ BS-compliant 1.5-litre diesel engine, albeit in a lower state of tune. In the Kia, this motor puts out 115PS of power and 250Nm of torque, coupled to either a 6-speed manual or a torque convertor automatic. Hyundai could also offer the Venue’s more powerful 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit (120PS/172Nm) with either a 7-speed DCT or a 6-speed manual.

The upcoming Elite i20 looks sharper and edgier than before and features a more prominent front grille similar to the recently launched Elantra facelift. The third-gen Elite i20 is expected to be priced at a slight premium over the current hatchback. For reference, the second-gen i20 retails between Rs 5.52 lakh to Rs 9.34 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Hyundai is expected to debut the upcoming Elite i20 at the Auto Expo 2020 followed by its launch later in the year.
