The facelifted Nexon is up against three of the most popular SUVs of its segment
The 2023 Tata Nexon has been launched recently and it gets features that can challenge cars from a segment above. But in its own segment of subcompact SUVs, its biggest rivals are the Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza and Hyundai Venue. Let’s see how the new Nexon fares against the three other popular subcompact SUVs.

There are a lot of engine options available in this segment, and yet not a whole lot of variation. The Nexon, Venue and Sonet offer turbo-petrol engines which produce the same output figures. You also get the option of a similarly sized and tuned diesel engine with these models for that extra torque. Meanwhile, the Maruti Brezza offers the most powerful naturally aspirated engine, and if you want a lower running cost, then it can also be had with a factory-fitted CNG kit with a claimed fuel efficiency of 25.51km/kg.

In terms of features, the Tata Nexon facelift offers more than all three SUVs. It gets a bigger infotainment than the Hyundai Venue and Maruti Brezza and comes with a proper digital driver’s display. It also has more premium comfort and convenience features, but when it comes to safety, the Venue edges ahead with its ADAS features. However, it is important to note that the pre-facelift Nexon scored a 5-star safety rating as per the older GNCAP crash test and the new one should do well in the BNCAP as well.
