5 Reasons Why You Should Consider The Newly Launched Hyundai Creta Electric
The Creta Electric is Hyundai’s most affordable EV offering in India, priced from Rs 17.99 lakh
The electric car market in India has grown significantly in recent years, with EVs now available starting at Rs 7 lakh and going up to over Rs 1 crore. Hyundai, which already sells the Ioniq 5 as a premium electric model in India, has recently launched its most affordable EV in the country – the Creta Electric – priced between Rs 17.99 lakh and Rs 24.38 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom pan-India). Here are 5 reasons why you should consider the all-electric Creta over its rivals:
Design: Bold And Sophisticated
While the Hyundai Creta Electric retains its core design, it still looks bold yet sophisticated making an impression wherever it goes. The front is adorned by pixelated patterns on the grille and bumper, complete with inverted L-shaped connected LED DRLs. Look closely and you’ll also notice that it gets a tweaked bumper with Active Air Flaps (AAF) that open up only when important components need cooling.
The Creta Electric sits on 17-inch aerodynamically designed alloy wheels that gives it an unique appeal over the ICE version. At the rear, it continues with the same inverted L-shaped connected LED tail lights that looks upmarket. The pixelated pattern is also present on the rear bumper of the all-electric Creta.
Offers A Plush Cabin
Much like the regular Hyundai Creta, the electric version also offers a plush cabin with comfortable leatherette-wrapped seats and high quality materials. It gets a new 3-spoke steering wheel, along with a new floating centre console and the AC panel is now touch sensitive. Just like the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the premium electric SUV, the all-electric Creta also gets a stalk-type drive mode selector behind the steering wheel, and this setup opens up a practical storage space in the lower centre console.
Overall, the dashboard layout and the quality materials make the cabin look very upmarket.
Loaded With Tech
Hyundai has equipped the Creta Electric with amenities like dual 10.25-inch displays with crisp graphics (one for the touchscreen and the other for the driver's display), an 8-speaker Bose sound system, dual-zone auto AC, a wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats and a large panoramic sunroof. It also comes with some useful convenience features like electric boss mode, memory function for the driver's seat, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) feature.
Uncompromised Safety
Hyundai was one of the first brands in India to not only standardise 6 airbags across its lineup, but also to introduce features like advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) to subcompact SUV segment. Building on the same reputation, the Creta Electric also comes loaded with top notch safety features such as 6 airbags (as standard), electronic stability control (ESC), and a 360-degree camera. If that’s not all, it also packs a complete suite of level 2 ADAS including features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and automatic emergency braking.
Practical Driving Range
One of the biggest hurdles in EV ownership today is still range anxiety. But Hyundai’s electric SUV is poised to tackle this issue head-on with a practical and reassuring driving range. Let’s first have a look at the battery pack and electric motor specifications of the Creta Electric:
