Wear and tear parts like brake pads and the fan belt have a recurring cost which is usually ignored while buying a car. Here is a list of the common wear and tear parts of entry-level hatchbacks to help you make a more informed buying decision

Buying a new car, especially your first one, is a very emotional purchase and one that’s decided by the size of your pocket. This decision is based on hard facts like the cost of the car as well as running and servicing it. But it is almost impossible to find out the repair and maintenance costs of a car before owning one. Not anymore, though! The CarDekho Spare Parts Price brings you the prices of all spare parts in one place for your convenience.

CarDekho has collected the spare part prices directly from manufacturers for cars ranging from the Alto to the Toyota Fortuner. Spanning across 12 segments and 65 models, the spare part prices have been categorised and compared with segment rivals in these three reports:

In this report, we are going to take a close look at the cost of consumables that require periodic replacement due to wear and tear. Before we dive into these, have a look at the price range of the cars in question: Maruti Alto, Renault Kwid and the Maruti S-Presso.

    Price

    Renault Kwid

    Maruti Alto

    Maruti S-Presso

    Ex-showroom Delhi

Note: CarDekho has sourced the costs of consumable parts directly from the manufacturer to help you make a more informed buying decision. The costs of these parts are inclusive of taxes but do not include the labour cost of installation.

For your convenience, we have divided the list of parts into four segments: steering, wheels and brake, air conditioner, suspension, and powertrain.

    Steering, wheel and brake

    • The Kwid is the most expensive car to repair in terms of steering, wheel and brakes.

    • Kwid’s rear drum and wheel bearings are more expensive than the Marutis.

    • The Alto is the least expensive to maintain thanks to affordable parts.

    • Alto’s brake disc and the wheel bearing cost is temptingly low too.

    • The S-Presso fits in between the other two hatchbacks.
