Audi A3 India launch imminent in 2012

It is no secret that Audi hopes to topple BMW’s dominance in the Indian luxury car segment in near future. Probably the new Audi A3 sedan could be the weapon Audi might use to reach out to its ambitions. However, Audi seems to be in a great hurry to bring the A3 sedan for an early launch in 2012 itself without allowing much time to waste to send the now concept car into produciton. The inteesting part is that Audi is likely to follow BMW’s strategy here with cost cutting measures, though the latter denies it vehemently.

The German luxury car manufacturer might come up with an extremely competitive price and that is by the Audi standards to match the BMW's plans. However, the Audi A3 concept is just a beginning of what we are going to see in the entire year to follow. A hybrid version of the Audi A8 limousine will be something hot to see from the luxury car manufacturer early next year apart from the electric sports car version of the Audi A8 meant for the later part of the year. The all new Audi A4 and Audi S6 sedan could be next up on the cards which are as well expected to make it to the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. Then there is again the Audi Q3 SUV with some smart price from Audi as an answer to BMW X1 series, which will be another product from Audi for the Auto Expo display.

Nevertheless, it would be exciting to see the Audi’s take on electric cars which seems to be a passion of car manufacturers of late. A sports car with an all-electric motor is not something we get to see very often where Tesla, who holds certain amount of expertise in the electric car manufacturing has delivered some results on this front. Anyhow, the upcoming product line-up shows the Audi’s growth plans for India which has delivered some remarkable performance in the current year close to 80% growth by year end.
