Audi has showcased its Prologue Concept at the 2016 Auto Expo. The car with its huge dimensions managed to impress everyone at the show, along with displaying Audi’s new design language. A combination of sportiness, lightweight design and quattro all wheel drive, Prologue has been presented to the masses in form of a luxurious coupe.
Inspired by Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO race car from 1989, the car’s design is influenced by the original A8 and TT. The car’s width and low ground clearance provides the automobile with a stunning design. Prologue is a typical Audi in each and every aspect, yet it sharpens the brand appeal with its refreshed exteriors. The coupe gets a bold front end, while incorporating signature single-frame grille. The headlights specifically grab attention, courtesy the amalgamation of two technologies - namely laser light and Audi Matrix beam-splitting . On the side profile, the carmaker has got neat lines flowing through while the aggressive fenders reminds us of the Ur-Quattro.
The automaker has tweaked the design at rear as well. The trunk-lid is projected in the driving direction and reminds the viewer of the side as well as rear profile of a yacht.
Prologue Concept is powered by a 4.0-litre TFSI engine. The mill is tuned to deliver a maximum power of 605 bhp with a humongous peak torque of 753 nm. This power is enough to take the car from standstill to 100 kmph in mere 3.7 seconds. Transmission duties are performed by Audi’s eight-speed tiptronic automatic gearbox.
