Audi confirms all-new Quattro Concept for Frankfurt

Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer has confirmed an all-new Quattro Concept for the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The company earlier released a vehicle based on the RS5 in 2010, which was expected to be a possible successor of the legendary Quattro rally and road going car of the 1980s.

According to media reports, the 2013 Audi Quattro concept shown in the official Audi design sketches will be based on significantly shortened RS7 platform. The vehicle will be powered by a V8 4.0-litre twin-turbo engine that develops more than 600bhp, in combination with a 170bhp electric motor.

This plug-in hybrid concept provides a combined output of around 800bhp and 1000Nm of top torque, which will be transmitted to a permanent all-wheel drive system. The vehicle is expected to accelerate 100kmph from stand still in mere 3.4 seconds, and is capable of attaining a top speed of 300kmph. The plug-in hybrid concept will feature various advanced features such as adaptive sports suspension, limited slip differential and ceramic brakes.
