    With the launch of the Audi e-Tron, we now have three premium electric SUVs to choose from. The other two are the Jaguar I-Pace and Mercedes Benz EQC, the latter being the first entrant in this space. 

    Let’s compare the three electric SUVs to find which one comes out on top.

    • The starting price of the e-Tron makes it the most affordable. However, its top-spec variant is the most expensive of the three.

    • The E-Tron is available with two battery packs: 71kWh (for the e-Tron 50) and 95kWh (for the e-Tron 55). 

    • The 71kWh variant produces the least power and torque figures in the competition, while the e-Tron 55 variants come at par with other electric SUVs. 

    • The EQC and e-Tron 55 generate the highest power figure of 408PS. The former is the torquiest, producing 760Nm. 

    • The top-spec e-tron has the biggest battery pack, followed by the i-Pace and EQC. 

    • In terms of acceleration, the I-Pace is the winner here, doing the 0-100kmph sprint in 4.8 seconds. All three electric SUVs have an all-wheel-drive system.

    • The e-Tron offers a claimed range of up to 484 kilometres, which is the maximum of these three. 

    • The e-Tron 50 variant, getting a smaller battery, offers 379 kilometres range. 

    • The EQC’s claimed range of 450 kilometres is 34km short of the e-tron 55s while the I-Pace is in the middle with 470km claimed from a single charge

    • The e-Tron 55 variants can support fast charging of up to 150kW, while the base variant can support up to 120kW

    • The 55 variants can be charged up to 80 percent in 30 minutes. 

    • The e-Tron is offered with a 11kW AC charger as standard, but there’s also an option of a 22kW charger. 

    • The i-Pace supports fast charging of up to 100kW, taking 45 minutes for 0-80 percent charge. 

    • The EQC offers the smallest wallbox charger of 7.4kWh, but can fully charge the SUV in 10 hours.

    Audi e-Tron seems to be the clear winner with more range and bigger battery capacity on paper, but only if you go for the 55 variants. The base-variant will help you save a decent amount, but with lower range and power figures. The Mercedes Benz EQC seems to be a balance among all the three options.
