    Audi Installs Ultra-fast EV Charger In Mumbai Powered By Renewable Energy

    The fast charger has a capacity of 450kW with charging guns that can deliver upto 360kW to EVs

    Audi India has unveiled the country's first-ever renewable energy-powered ultra-fast charging station. Situated at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai, Audi’s 'e-tron hub' can deliver 360kW to EVs through a 500 amps liquid-cooled charging gun.

    The 'e-tron hub' runs entirely on green energy and is equipped with solar roof panels to support peripheral electrical needs, including lighting. Using Audi’s fast charger, the Q8 55 e-tron, which comes with a 114 kWh battery pack, can charge from 20 to 80 percent in just 26 minutes.

    Designed in collaboration with ChargeZone, the charging hub features five bays and an integrated lounge for Audi e-tron owners, where owners can sit during the charging process. In addition, e-tron owners can avail premium coffee vouchers to charge up at the hub. The station operates 24/7 and is accessible through the 'myAudi Connect' app. Furthermore, it has chargers that are compatible with and it is open to all EVs.

    Explaining the motivation behind this initiative, Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India, highlighted the brand's dedication to developing a comprehensive EV ecosystem. He commented on the occasion, “The rapid charging infrastructure is pivotal in alleviating concerns about range limitations, ensuring a seamless experience and considerably less charging time.”

    Audi has installed over 140 EV chargers in India across 73 cities. Also, the carmaker’s 'Charge my Audi' initiative, is offering Audi e-tron customers complimentary charging across a network of partners until March 2024. As of now, Audi has 4 EVs in India, including the Q8 e-tron, Q8 e-tron Sportback, e-tron GT, and RS e-tron GT.
