Audi plans to roll out Q3 Mini SUV

Audi India is planning to roll out Q3 mini-SUV. Audi’s Q3 Mini SUV will be a stylish car with styles and features of a sportscar. It is estimated that this model will lie between the price range of Rs 25 to Rs 28 lakh.  However, a senior official of Audi India denied any such plans in the near future saying that Audi has not even launched Q3 in the overseas markets. So according to him there is no possibility of  launching the model in the Indian market, at least in the next few quarters. However, over a period of time they might consider it if there is a market potential.
 
The global launch of Q3 is scheduled next year. The good news is that the Indian market will also get it along with the world, say market experts. This German auto titan is checking its options for assembling this small model at its Aurangabad facility. Audi is interested in the Indian market and has invested a lot in that and as they do not want to lose it in any manner, their Q3 launch will be an important step, especially after BMW announced its X1.
 
The German automaker checked all the possible good sites to produce the Q3 and finally the Seat site in Martorell, Spain became the final choice. As per Rupert Stadler, chairman of the Board of Management at Audi AG, all the relevant factors were discussed upon and an in depth consideration was done and the overall  extensive international comparison of various sites finally made them select Martorell.  He also said that they are counting on this Spanish site's efficiency, the excellent quality of the Production department, and its highly trained staff. The Group's synergies will be used to sharpen the competitive edge and help protect around 1,200 jobs. The decision furthermore safeguards workplaces at other Audi locations.
 
Frank Dreves, Audi Board Member for Production said that starting in 2011, the Audi Q3 will be produced to Audi quality standards at the Martorell factory and this will provide the additional flexibility regarding future decisions about products.
