Audi TT launched at Rs 48.36 lakh

Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, today announced the launch of its design icon, the Audi TT in India. Propelled by a powerful and highly efficient petrol engine, this high performance sports coupé is priced at INR 48, 36, 000 (ex-showroom Maharashtra) and will be available at Audi dealerships from June 2012. The Audi TT was unveiled by Mr. Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India.“Dynamic design, enthralling performance and exemplary efficiency – the Audi TT Coupé is an embodiment of a sports car which perfectly characterizes the core essence of our brand DNA, ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’. The design icon already sports a fascinating and dynamic appearance and has now been revised to be even more expressive. This high performance sports coupé is targeted at individuals who are dynamic and distinct and ones who aim to seek a sense of freedom. While we focus on the sportiness, at the same time we want to offer our customers the highly efficient and dynamic 2.0 TFSI engine.

The TT Coupé has grown by nearly two centimeters and now measures 4,187 millimeters in length, 1,842 millimeters in width and height of 1,353 millimeters. The wheelbase measures 2,468 millimeters. Audi offers the TT Coupé in India with 2.0 TFSI engine which combines sporty performance with groundbreaking efficiency. New to the TT is the 2.0 TFSI with 155 kW (211 hp) and 350 Nm of torque at 1600 - 4200 rpm. The quattro permanent all-wheel drive system is standard for the 2.0 TFSI with the S tronic. With this combination, it sprints 0-100 km/hr in just 5.6 seconds. Ground-breaking efficiency A key factor for the groundbreaking efficiency and excellent driving dynamics of the TT is the body, which features hybrid Audi Space Frame technology (ASF). The body of the Coupé weighs only 206 kilograms, with 140 kilograms of aluminum and 66 kilograms of steel.

Interior

The interior of the TT features a sporty design, dynamic elegance and uncompromising fit and finish. Accents are provided by new aluminum-look applications and rings, frames and strips in high-gloss black. The leather seat covers are specially treated to reduce thermal heating by as much as 20 degrees Celsius when the TT is parked in the sun. The TT Coupé comes with a wide array of standard equipment. Among the highlights are the symphony audio system, a driver information system and an automatic climate control system.

The onboard computer with efficiency program comes standard in the TT. It presents all consumption-relevant data on the central display, and gives tips for efficient driving. Audi delivered more than 106,600 cars to customers worldwide in February 2012, an increase of 16.6 percent over the same period in 2011. For the year to date (January to February 2012), worldwide sales for Audi have reached around 202,700 cars, a rise of 8.5 percent. This was the first time that the company has exceeded the mark of 200,000 cars by the end of February. In India, Audi achieved a remarkable performance with sale of 600 cars in February 2012 – a growth of 33 percent over the same period last year (February 2011: 450 cars).

New Audi TT

Powering ahead confidently with its outlook for 2012, the brand with the four rings has plans to sell 8000 cars this year, which will be a significant growth over last year (2011:5511 cars). The Audi model range in India includes Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A7 Sportback, Audi A8L,Audi Q5, Audi Q7, Audi RS5 Coupé, Audi TT, the super sports car Audi R8 and the Audi R8 Spyder available across the country: in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai,Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Mumbai West,Pune and Surat. Further developments include Coimbatore, Delhi West, Lucknow,Nagpur and Mumbai South.
