Auto Mobile component maker launch Asli Nakli Campaign against fake auto part makers

The Indian auto mobile industry globally one of the fastest growing auto sector has been witnessing the problem of fake auto mobile parts. The fake auto parts market has  grown many folds and is becoming a night mare for the auto companies. Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA)  has already introduced a campaign in order to control the issue. As per the reports, ACMA introduced a campaign known as "Asli-Naqli" in 2003 and is successfully executed since then.

In the domestic auto mobile market the fake parts registers for around Rs 87 billion every year which has reached to Rs 248 billion. The most popular fake auto parts which are circulated includes brake discs, brake pads, axle boots, rubber rings and suspension parts, they are all related to vehicular safety. Due to the use of such fake auto parts 25,400 deaths and over 93,000 injuries were caused in the year 2009. It was also mentioned that duplicate parts consumes more fuel in petrol, it accounted to be 109 million litres and in diesel about eight million litres. When calculated it into money unit it estimated to be around Rs 6 billion every year.

The emissions also rose by 10 to 15 per cent because of the use of such fake parts in the light auto mobiles and in commercial auto mobile it shot up considerably. As per the industry associates the monetary losses due to fake parts is immense and also hamper the economic growth. It is noted that the duplicate auto part makers do not pay their taxes which again leads a loss of around Rs 22 billion every year to the Government. In 2010 more than 311 joint raids were made and firs were launched against them in this year and now it is speculated to grow more than 500.
