Automobile Segment growtht unaffected by recession

Export of passenger have reached 2.71 lakh units while It was 1.66 lakh units in last year. The exports of Maruti reached up by 16.60% to 48,689 units. In the ten month period Tata motors has registered a decline of 43.05%.
Although there is also recorded some decline in sells. In January 2009, there is an overall 7.4% decline in sales in automobile sector whereas in domestic passenger car sales it is declined by 3.2%. However these figurs are not so big compare to growth figurs.
About the recovery of the auto sector, SIAM Secretary General Dilip Chenoy said: A lot depends on implementation of the stimulus packages that were announced and also on the proposed measures during and prior to the interim budget.
