Bently to showcase the Continenal GT with V8 engine at Detroit Motor Show

Bentley will showcase the greener 4.0 L V8 petrol engine to power the base Continental GT variant at the Detroit Motor Show next year. However, Volkswagens’ luxury car subsidiary has not hinted  about the India launch as of now. The new environmental friendly eight valve engine is also expected to boost the performance while coming clean where the fuel emissions are concerned. However, the luxury car manufacturer leaves the option of the older W12 engine for the Continental GTY fans.

The new 4.0 L V8 engine will replace the 5998 cc W12 engine to show some extraordinary power output of 500 Bph at 6000 rpm and 453 Nm top torque at 1700-5000 rpm, not to mention the downsized carbon emissions. What more, the users who are a little high on encouraging the greener environment are quite welcome to shut down 4 cylinders. The new engine is now mated with an eight –speed ZF automatic gearbox which promises a top speed of 290 kmph. The acceleration of the car is still uncompromised touching the 0-100 kmph in dashing 5 seconds. The fuel efficiency and other significant details are kept under wraps for the Detroit Auto Expo to be held in January.

So, well will have to wait until then to get an inkling on what the Bentley Continental GT price could be if and when Bentley India decides to launch luxury sports car in the country.
