BMW 2 Series Active Tourer unveiled at Geneva Motor Show

The new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer made its public apperance at 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The same wagon was previewed as the concept Active Tourer at the Paris Motor Show'12. It is based on UKL front wheel drive architecture, which is also found with the recently introduced new Mini Cooper.
Powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged, three-cylinder, petrol engine, which delivers max power of 136bhp and 220Nm of torque. In terms of performance, the car accelerates from 0-100kmph in just 9.3 seconds. While, another engine option is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine producing 231bhp and 350Nm of outputs. The wagon also comes with a 2.0-litre diesel engine is capable of producing max power of 150bhp and 330Nm of torque.
The new Active Tourer is available with both transmission options- 6-speed manual tranmission and an 8-speed automatic transmission. With the automatic option, the customers can also avail launch control as standard feature with the car. The vehicle is likely to compete with Mercedes-Benz B-Class, and it is highly possible that BMW will launch this wagon in India.
