In sync with the BMW intelligent hybrid drive system, BMW Asia announced the second generation BMW ActiveHybrid 7. The new model will have lower fuel consumptions and emissions and will use the BMW TwinPower Turbo technology with 6-cylinder in-line petrol engine. The system output for the Hybrid 7 will be 354bhp with the electric motor delivering 55bhp. The price for the BMW ActiveHybrid 7 will be $425,800 approximately which in INR is 2.22 crore. The model will be up on sale on October 5 in Singapore.
The new BMW ActiveHybrid 7 will accelerate from 0-100kmph in about 5.7seconds and has a torque of 450Nm. If running only on electric power then it will deliver a torque of 210Nm. Further the new BMW series will be packed with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology with twin-scroll turbocharging, Double-Vanos variable camshaft timing etc. The ActiveHybrid 7 will come with a 8-speed automatic transmission.
The new hybrid will come with an Auto Start-Stop function which will help cut fuel consumption up to almost 6%. There be the Brake Energy Regeneration which helps generate electricity with zero impact on fuel consumption.
The ECO PRO model will also help reduce fuel consumption by modifying engine management and programming the heating and air condition etc. to operate for optimum efficiency. Apart from these features there also will be BMW ConnectedDrive technology like Anti-dazzle High-Beam assistant, professional navigation system with 3D display etc.
