BMW bags five awards in J.D. Power and Associates Quality Study

BMW has topped in five categories in the 2015 J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Study. This is the first BMW has topped in three segments with BMW 2 Series in the Small Premium Cars segment, BMW 4 Series in the Compact Premium Cars segment and 5 Series, which is also the world’s best selling executive car in 2014, in the Midsize Premium Cars segment. Adding to this, BMW’s plant in Rosslyn, South Africa was presented with the Platinum Plant Quality Award 2015, thus getting the accolade of world’s best assembly plant while the company’s Dingolfing plant received the Silver Plant Quality Award 2014. This makes the Dingolfing plant seond-best car factory in Europe/Africa region after BMW Plant Rosslyn and the best car plant in Europe.
The study was conducted with 84,000 North American new car buyers who registered their vehicles between November 2014 and February 2015. The survey also included any problems they experienced with their car in the first three months of ownership. This Initial Quality Study covers 233 points in eight individual categories - Exterior; Driving Experience; Features/Controls/Displays; Audio/Communication/Entertainment /Navigation; Seats; Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning; Interior; Engine/Transmission.
