Where on one hand this week, BMW India lost its No.1 position to Audi, in the same week they achieved the magnificient number of assembling and rolling out 25,000 cars from their Chennai Plant. BMW has strengthened their position in India, in the luxury segment. They have already delivered 4,457 units in 2012 uptil now whereas, they had sold 9,371 in the entire year of 2011. on this achievement the MD, BMW plant Chennai, Juergen Eder who was filled with pride and excitement, congratulated the entire family of the Chennai for helping BMW reach the number and deliver finest quality.
He further added that there has been an increase in demand for the Bavarian car models in the luxury segment and the Chennai plant would play an important role in helping the company achieve the numbers they wish to achieve. Adding to the joy of the achievement was the fact that this number was achieved in less than six years. With Audi pacing ahead from BMW who have been at the No1. selling luxury car brand position for 3 years, the latter is sure to further strengthen their hold on the Indian market and regain their position. Currently they have 25 dealerships in the country which they plan to expand to 40 outlets by the end of 2012. BMW might surprise the market soon because the aggression with which Audi is moving forward, the times call for something drastic to overtake them with a decent enough number. For now, all that we can do is wait and watch what BMW has in store for us.
