BMW India eyes to triple dealership in next four years

The lush and plush car manufacturer BMW India is hoping to almost triple its dealership count up by the year of 2015. This aim will surely lessen the firm’s reliance on Mumbai and Delhi car markets. BMW is considered to be on the top position on the list of luxury car makers in India. Since last year, BMW had around 22 dealers and now it is planning to boost up this dealership number to 60 by 2015.

As per the president of BMW India, Mr. Andreas Schaaf, after reaching 60 dealers in number in the country, the Mumbai and Delhi car markets will be diminished to 40%, which was earlier 60% and the sales of BMW cars are expecting to grow in other regions of the country. According to certain reports, in the year 2010, BMW had a tough fight from Mercedes Benz and this year BMW is all set to boost up their car sales much faster than last year.

BMW India is hoping to sell around 10,000 units this year. The manufacturing of BMW cars in India will be done at Chennai facility. By the year of 2020, the souk of luxury cars in India could touch the mark of approximately 150,000 units.
