BMW’s middle-weight SUV gets a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol mill that produces 245PS of power and 350Nm of torque that help it achieve a claimed 0-100kmph time of 6.5 seconds – identical to the Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4MATIC.

The SUV’s feature list includes bi-xenon headlights with daytime running LEDs, LED foglights, a panorama glass roof and a 2-zone climate control. It also gets BMW’s iDrive touch infotainment system with navigation and a 205W, 9-speaker sound system.

The X5 petrol employs a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that makes 306PS of power and 400Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100kmph sprint in just 6.5 seconds. This is identical to the X3 xDrive28i’s sprint time and about 0.5 seconds behind the GLE400 4MATIC, which Mercedes-Benz launched in August this year at Rs 74.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The big SUV gets features like adaptive LED headlights, a powered tailgate, heated wing mirrors with integrated LED indicators and a 4-zone climate control. It also gets the iDrive touch infotainment system with a Harman Kardon 600 W, 16-speaker sound system

Both, the X3 and X5 get all-wheel drive with the output transmitted through an eight-speed automatic gearbox. It remains to be seen, if and when, the X1 and X6 will be offered with petrol motors.
