BMW India records One Million Fans on Facebook

BMW becomes the first luxury car manufacturer in India who achieved “One Million” fan base on Facebook within 14 months. And the One Millionth fan was none other than the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. BMW India had launched their Facebook Community in May 2011.

80% of the fans on the BMW India page lie between 18-35 years. And on weekly basis, they page reach out to more than 1.5 million unique people. The exclusive content and viral wall posts on the BMW India page extend the reach to 5 million unique people. BMW community on Facebook has been highly active with 30% of the fan base involved into active conversations on daily basis. Over 0.2 million people converse about the page via wall posts, contest participation, sharing, responding etc.

Dr. Andreas Schaaf, President BMW Group said that BMW India, with their page focus of harnessing the power of social media and create brand engagement with customers. Sachin Tendulkar, on the association said that he felt great to be the 1 millionth fan of the BMW India community on Facebook. He has always been known as an ardent BMW fan and he mentioned that he has been driving BMW since 1993 and has owned various models ranging from 3 series, M5 to X5.
