BMW fired big guns at the Auto Expo 2010 with its pavilion shining great in Hall No- 09 along with the pavilion of Bosch in the same zone. The major highlights of the Pavilion were the exciting launches and display of some much-awaited and much-anticipated Cars. For the enthusiastic and anticipating crowd of general visitors, Business representatives, people from media, BMW's reception at the pavilion had a good amount of information displayed in form of brochures, press releases and verbal information dissipated through their representatives and executives.
Female models deployed to pose along with the cars displayed, actually had tremendous know-how about the technical specifications of the Cars, guiding the general visitors. There was also a well furnished cafe for refreshments built adjacent to the pavilion. The Cars displayed on a rotating dais, stupendous lighting, beautiful models posing with a smile, informed representatives helping visitors etc, made BMW's pavilion attract attention at full spree.
BMW opened sales for the 760Li, the awesome 6.0-litre 544PS V12-engined version of the 7 Series, BMW X6 the 5 Series GT claiming to offer the capabilities of multiple cars under one roof and Gran Turismo. Along with the above vehicles,BMW X1, the company's smallest SUV also made it debut in India. BMW had the full 3, (old) 5 Series range on display along with BMW Z4 (an existing model).
The GT with its estate like body, high ground clearance, acres of space and a slightly coupe like roof line makes it unique. BMW India will offer both the petrol and diesel variants and only 100 units of the vehicle will be made available in 2010.
BMW X1 displayed at the Delhi Auto Expo is a modern vehicle that offers a new definition of BMW Sheer Driving Pleasure and a spontaneous lifestyle. Mr Peter Kronschnabl, President BMW India has announced that CKD(Completely Knocked Down) Production will be commenced at Chennai based manufacturing plant by the end of 2010. BMW X1 has demonstrated company's fine sense for pioneer automotive trends and it has opened up a new luxury segment in the Compact Sports Activity/ Sports Utility vehicle class. It has young and sporty design which awakens the enthusiasm for driving. The BMW X1,recent addition in the X family line is subjugated by the X5 SUV and X6 Cross Over. X1 follows the same lines of X3 Soft Roader which has been widely popular in India. X1 is expected to be much more affordable than the other models. Indian customers have one reason to smile with X1 which boasts to be compact and versatile.
Another beauty from the BMW flagship's car is the BMW X6, comes with a capacity of 4.4 L V8 engine and supplies 555 bhp at 600 rpm.It gives over 68 kgm of torque between 1500 and 5650 rpm.BMW X6 picks up from 0 to 100 kph of speed in mere 4.7 seconds which is phenomenal given its not actually a SUV. The BMW X6 gives a top of its class driving experience,high end safety features and comfort which is beyond one's imagination. For the first time,the capabilities of a sports car are excellently merged with the principles of a Sports Activity Coupe and the result is the outstanding BMW X6 which is priced at 1.3 crore.
The BMW Gran Turismo is a dream combination of a SUV,Sedan and classic Gran Turismo and is priced at 63 lacs.A four door model with frameless window has a sports car like stretched roof and a stylish roofline similar to a already available BMW.The car possesses two piece tail gates and runs with an eight speed Automatic transmission. The spacious interiors results in a comfortable driving experience and powerful engines give a smooth ride, not something that is unknown to BMW users and fans.
Another model which has been launched was BMW 760LI which is an add on in fifth generation BMW 7Series. BMW 760i is a newly developed V12 power unit with BMW power turbo technology. This car is facilitated with high precision injection and double dash VANOS infinite camshaft adjustment which will deliver maximum power of 400Kw from engine capacity of 6.0L and develop peak torque of 750Nm at 1500 rpm. BMW 760i has come up with eight speed transmission and innovative gear set configuration. Its price is Rs 1.29 crore (ex-showroom Delhi)
With its world-class product lineage like BMW-Rolls-Royce, BMW-Series 3, series 5 etc the Brand holds on to the integrity of its name over every member in its product range. BMW since its inception has managed to maintain a niche amongst premium and luxury Car segments. BMW seems to hold strong stakes in the Indian Automotive market. BMW’s new 3 Series would be refreshed into an environment friendly car that will see its debut at the Paris Motor-show in 2011. With BMW niche products making their mark every year in the automotive genre, 2012 would witness the launch of BMW V3 Crossover.
