BMW to launch 3 Series GT at 2014 Delhi Auto Expo

The German luxury brand, BMW will launch its 3 Series GT at the upcoming 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. The all-new BMW 3 Series GT will be one of the most significant launches taking place in the Indian car market. Moreover, the vehicle will be produced locally, thereby the company can keep its costs down.
BMW had unveiled the 3 Series GT at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, while it will be positioned in between 3 Series and 5 Series model in India. In terms of exterior dimensions, the vehicle measures 200mm longer, 50mm taller and 17mm wider than the current 3 Series model. Moreover, the wheelbase has been increased by 110mm, which ultimately creates larger space inside the car. Also the driving position has been changed due to the increase of overall height of the car. The enhanced legroom and headroom allows better comfort especially to the rear passengers.
The all-new GT will get 520-liter of boot space, split fold rear seats down which further helps to create boot capacity upto 1600 liters. Other interiors aspects are expected to remain same.When it comes to the styling of the model, it kind of resembles to the regular 3 Series sedan, however minor changes are done to make it distinguishable. The front is raised and made wider, which ultimately made the manufacturers bring changes over the headlights, lower bumper and quite a few more kinds. It also features an active sports wing that comes out while cruising at the speed of 100kmph.
The brand-new BMW 3 Series GT will be powered by a 2.0-liter diesel engine which is capable of producing 184bhp, while the petrol variant has 2.0-liter motor producing 245bhp of maximum power. There is also a performance oriented model which gets 3.0-liter engine that churns out max power output of 306bhp. In India, the model is expected to feature the eight-speed automatic transmission clubbed with all the above mentioned engines.
