Production of the hottest M4, the M4 GTS Coupe will be restricted to just 5 units a day, a recent media report states.
A total of 700 examples will be made between March and December next year – out of which 300 will be destined for the United States, 50 for Canada, 30 for UK, and the remaining ones for rest of the world. Production of this limited-edition model will take place at the same location where the M6 GT3 and M135i Cup race cars were manufactured.
Interestingly, the M4 GTS starts its production journey as a regular 4-Series Coupe and then goes to BMW’s M division where it receives all the special upgrades, including the water injection system, carbon ceramic brakes, adjustable M coilover suspension, titanium exhaust system, and bespoke M light-alloy wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres.
Under the hood is a biturbo straight-six 3.0-litre engine that puts out a whopping 493 horsepower. It’s good enough for a 0-100kmph in just 3.7 seconds and an electronically-restricted 305 kmph. Also, this hardcore GTS version lap the Nurburgring in approximately 7 minutes and 28 seconds, which not only makes this the fastest in the M3/M4 line to date, but the fastest production Bimmer ever clocked around the 14-mile Ring.
