BMW has put on hold the launch of its mini car in India as expected. The company decided to rethink on its previous plan of launching the car by the end of the year. However, BMW is thinking over to start the used-car programme in the country. Peter Kronschnabl, President, BMW India said the reason behind putting on hold the launch, is not have anything to do with lack of interest or customers. He added that the car brand is separate from BMW. He insisted that existing BMW dealerships are not supposed to do the work but will have to build separate network. This has a cost component and the potential is not that big to support an entry into the market. However, he informed that pre-owned car programmes are always an additional profitable stream for a company and for this company will take it time.
