Toyota is perhaps the only mass-market brand still offering big diesel engines in India. These diesel engines are found on popular models such as the Toyota Innova Crysta and Toyota Fortuner, and also on the locally assembled Toyota Hilux pickup. The Japanese marque has now also divulged the waiting times that are being endured by new buyers of these diesel offerings for the month of March 2024:

Of the three models mentioned here, it’s the Hilux that is available the soonest, while the Innova Crysta will take around half a year to reach your home. Price Range And Rivals
The Toyota Innova Crysta MPV is priced between Rs 19.99 lakh and Rs 26.30 lakh while the Fortuner’s prices range from Rs 33.43 lakh to Rs 51.44 lakh (Legender variants included). The Toyota Hilux is sold in the range of Rs 30.40 lakh to Rs 37.90 lakh.
While the Innova Crysta is a premium alternative to the Maruti Ertiga and Kia Carens, the Fortuner takes on the MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq, and Jeep Meridian. The Hilux is positioned above the Isuzu V-Cross while being a pickup truck alternative to full-size SUVs including the Fortuner and Gloster.
