The Nashik industrial court ordered on Wednesday the strike to be called off within 48 hours. The company, Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M), informed about this decision to the stock exchange on Thursday. The court declared the strike as illegal and has ordered workers to report to their respective shifts. It may be recalled that the workers at M&M Nashik plant went on a tool-down strike over the union demanding that the suspension of its leader Madhav Dhatrak be revoked. The workers went on strike on May 4. The Nashik plant produces M&M's flagship Scorpio and utility vehicles Bolero and Xylo, besides rolling out Mahindra Renault's sedan Logan. The plant has an annual production capacity of 1.5 lakh units. Production at the company's Nashik facility, which makes about 500 vehicles daily, has been affected due to the strike by nearly 4,000 workers.
