The 2023 Tata Safari facelift was recently launched, featuring an updated design, additional features, and enhanced safety. Tata is offering its flagship SUV starting at Rs 16.19 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). However, at the initial launch event, the carmaker did not disclose the complete pricing for its automatic and Dark edition variants. Two days later, we got the full prices for the automatic and Dark Edition variants of the 2023 Tata Safari.

Except for the Pure+ automatic variant, all other automatic variants of the Tata Safari facelift come with a premium of Rs 1.4 lakh, whereas the difference between the Pure+ manual and automatic variant is Rs 1.3 lakh. Tata is offering the option of automatic transmission from the Pure+ variant of the SUV which starts from Rs 20.69 lakh.

On the other hand, the Dark edition with the 2023 Safari is offered from the Pure+ variant. All Dark automatic models of the SUV carry the same premium of Rs 1.4 lakh over their corresponding manual transmission variants.

Features On Offer
The updated Tata Safari is decked up with features like a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, multi-colour ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control with a touch-based control panel, 10-speaker JBL sound system, and a powered tailgate. It also features panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats (2nd row seats in the 6-seater variants).
Safety is taken care of by up to 7 airbags (6 airbags as standard) and its ADAS suite now includes adaptive cruise control. Other safety features include ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), 360-degree camera, lane departure warning, blind spot detection and auto emergency braking.
A Single Diesel Powertrain
Tata only offers the Safari facelift with a 2-litre diesel engine which makes 170PS and 350Nm, mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Currently, no petrol engine option is available, but we expect it to be introduced sometime in 2024.
Price Range & Rivals
The 2023 Tata Safari is priced between Rs 16.19 lakh to Rs 27.34 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It takes on the Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar.
