Chevrolet Cruze Facelift Showcased at Auto Expo 2016

General Motors has showcased the new Chevrolet Cruze at the ongoing Auto Expo. The car was recently launched with a price tag of 14.68 Lac (ex-showroom, Delhi). The updated sedan comprises of a revamped look and extra technical inputs, however, it remains unaltered when it boils down to the power source. The car costs slightly higher than before, now at Rs. 15000-70000, depending on the fully loaded manual and automatic variants, namely the LT, LTZ and LTZ AT. It will compete with the likes of Renault Fluence, Hyundai Elantra, Skoda Octavia and Toyota Corolla Altis in the segment.

From the outside, the Cruze appears to be more stylish - courtesy a revised front and rear. The facelifted Cruze gets Chevrolet's latest twin slat grille and the redesigned bumper comes with LED daytime running lights. However, headlights of the ongoing model are carried forward into this facelift. At the rear, a new spoiler lip is rendered to the vehicle, though the overall bodywork is from the current model.

Interiors of this premium executive sedan are identical to its previous version , especially when it all tumbles down to colour scheme, dash design and plastic insertions. What grabs one's attention this time, is the all new 7-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system, the one found in the Chevrolet Trailblazer. This entertainment unit is further equipped with the internet radio (Stitcher SmartRadio), bluetooth audio streaming as well as telephony, AC controls and SIRI compatibility. The SIRI system is being offered on Apple devices, such as an iPad or an iPhone. Besides these, a refreshed multi-functional steering wheel is also fitted along with buttons for the infotainment.

Cruze is left unaltered in the power department and continues forward with the same 2.0 litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel mill. The VCDi engine delivers 165bhp and peak torque of 360Nm. Paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox, the motor returns a mileage of 14.81 and 17.9km/l respectively. Safety packages includes - side airbags, ABS along with  PEPS (passive entry passive start) controls anti-theft alarm, central locking and auto ignition start stop.
