Chevrolet Sail sedan coming in India?

General Motors is giving a strong thought of launching its SAIC developed sedan, Chevrolet Sail in India, which will give its rivals, Toyota Etios, Maruti Swift Dzire and Tata Indigo Manza a run for their money. Chevrolet sedans have been pretty outpaced currently in the Indian car market as its Chevrolet Aveo twins are not up-to-date in styling and engines. These twins do not match up to the level of fuel efficiency that is needed right now.

Also Chevrolet Aveo has not undergone any changes so far. It has been three years, when GM gave a styling facelift to Chevrolet Aveo, but it failed to hit the Indian roads. Chevrolet Aveo however comes with a 3 year maintenance pack, which is not up to the mark. The main reason of failure of Chevrolet Aveo is the absence of diesel engine. However, the glimpse of the new Chevrolet Sail is a sign of relief for the General Motor fanatics. The new Chevrolet Sail was spotted in India recently. This sedan is manufactured by Shanghai General Motors along with PATAC (Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center). As far as the Chevrolet Sail specifications are concerned, this sedan will come equipped with a 1.2 litres and 1.4 litres of S-TEC petrol engines.

According to the reports, General Motors has spent big bucks into some alternative fuel technology, such as CNG/LPG and it is expected that the American car maker could use this technology in Chevrolet Sail in future, the Chevrolet sail price in India has not been revealed yet.
