Chevrolet Teases New-gen Beat; Will Showcase new Cruze, Camaro, Corvette and Spin at IAE 2016

Update: Chevrolet has unveiled ACTIV, a concept of Beat hatchback and its sedan derivative named Essentia at the Auto expo 2016. The new hatchback has projector headlamps encased in a much more sleeker cluster and other aesthetic updates. On the other hand, Essentia will compete against Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze and others in the segment. In a statement made on behalf of the company recently, Chevrolet announced that consumers visiting the 2016 Indian Auto Expo will witness an all-new avatar of the company. This will come as a courtesy of the wide range of models that the American automaker has lined-up for the Auto Expo showcase. Chevrolet recently launched the 2016 update for its Beat hatchback and has now released an image teasing the arrival of the all-new Beat, which in all likeliness will be showcased at the upcoming Auto Expo. In addition to Beat, Chevrolet will also showcase the Spin MPV which will complete the new-generation line-up for the company. The Chevrolet pavilion will also be graced by the globally coveted Camaro and Corvette sportscars.

The off-roading duties will be undertaken by the company’s premium SUV, the Chevrolet Trailblazer and Colorado pick-up truck, which will make its way to us all the way from international markets. There is also a possibility that Chevrolet will bring in the upgraded Cruze, which happens to be the company’s premium sedan to the auto Expo. To make the experience more interactive for the consumers, Chevrolet will showcase interactive applications like Oculus Rift Virtual Experience. The Oculus Rift applications will allow visitors to go on a virtual road trip in a 7–D environment through the rugged New Zealand terrains. So all-in-all, the Chevrolet booth will be one spot that you don’t want to miss during the 2016 Indian Auto Expo, which will be held from 5th-9th of February in Greater Noida.

Spin MPV

Spin MPV will be showcased at the Expo and when launched will rival the likes of Renault Lodgy, Toyota Innova and others. This car will be Chevy’s attempt at  approaching the mass-market consumer base, which is partial to their utility vehicles. Spin in all probability will incorporate the Fiat-sourced, 1.3-liter MultiJet diesel engine, which will deliver a power output of 75PS and 190Nm  of peak torque. The mill will come coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

New Beat Cross

Chevrolet will be showcasing the crossover version of its Beat hatchback at the upcoming 2016 Indian Auto expo. The car will feature a redesigned front fascia and is expected to incorporate updates like projector headlamps, LED DRLs etc. There is a strong possibility that mechanically, the car will remain unaltered and will feature standard crossover updates like excessive use of cladding.

Camaro

Gracing Chevy’s pavilion will be the Camaro sports car. In comparison to its arch rival, Camaro SS will outshine Mustang GT in terms of performance. The car is lighter than Ford’s offering and features a more powerful V8, which delivers a whopping power output of 455bhp. This particular Transformer will definitely garner some serious attention at the Expo.

Corvette Stingray

To tickle the fancy of every Indian automotive enthusiast, Chevy will also showcase the latest generation of its Corvette supercar at the upcoming Auto Expo. The ostentatious supercar will flaunt the same powerplant, which is incorporated by the Camaro but in a very serious/performance oriented layout. The aggressive designing will make this particular car, a sight to behold!

Colorado pick-up truck

Undertaking the off-roading duties on behalf of the company will be another import, the Colorado pick-up truck. As far as styling is concerned, Colorado will flaunt the same intimidating appeal, which American pick-ups are globally coveted for. Under the hood, this truck will incorporate three engine options, which will include a 3.6-litre V6 petrol, a 2.8-litre Duramax turbocharged diesel and a 2.5-litre four cylinder petrol powerplant. The diesel mill is same as the unit seen in the Trailblazer premium SUV.

Beat Essentia

Chevrolet will be showcasing its sub-4 metre sedan at the upcoming Auto Expo. Essentia sedan  will rival the likes of recently launched Volkswagen Ameo, Ford Aspire, Honda Amaze, Maruti Swift and Hyundai Xcent. Chevrolet Beat hatchback and Beat Essentia will share the same platform.
