Jaguar has launched its most economical model, XE, in the Indian car market. It is introduced at a price of Rs. 39.90 lac and targets a new set of customers for the automaker. The car will compete with the likes of Mercedes C-class, Audi A4 and BMW 3-Series. For now, Jaguar has launched only the petrol variant of XE. The diesel variant is highly anticipated, but timeline for launch of the same is not yet available. On the other hand, BMW 3-series comes with a diesel engine and offers no petrol trim. Still, for those who are planning to buy a car in this segment, we have compared these automobiles on specific parameters. Models have been selected on the basis of price and those which come close to Jaguar’s more powerful tune, have been chosen. Have a look!
The battle seems to be tough. While the German trio has been playing in this segment for a while now, Jaguar is a new player. With updated features and high power delivering capacity, XE will surely renew the competition in this segment. One parameter, where XE trumps its competitors, is the power delivering capacity. With 197 bhp, it is way ahead of its rivals, thus petrolheads will surely be more attracted towards this four-wheeler. The car’s excellent handling is its greatest asset and extensive use of aluminium in the making of body shell has helped reduce its weight. The comparatively low cost of the just launched vehicle will further help it in enticing people.
