Datsun To Launch Limited Edition ‘redi-GO Sport’ On September 29

In order to lure young buyers by following a sporty theme, Datsun – the affordable arm of Japanese auto giant Nissan – will be launching a limited edition sports avatar of their entry-level hatchback redi-GO. Slated to take place on September 29, this seems to be an apt time for the brand as the festive season is just around the corner. Right from its launch in June this year, redi-GO has faced stiff competition from well-established players, including its distant cousin the Kwid. Now, with this new avatar, Datsun hopes to climb the sales charts. 

Going by the teaser image, it is unlikely that any mechanical changes will be on the cards. Thus, it will carry the same 799cc three-cylinder motor which can churn out 53PS of peak power along with 72Nm of torque. However, from what can be observed, the sporty racing stripes at the bonnet and onto the sides along with a blackened front grille does make it look catchy. Addition of matt-black wheel covers will definitely up the sporty quotient. Another appealing factor is a hint of body paint which can be seen on the grille and onto the wheel covers as well. As far as the Datsun Redi-Go interiors are concerned, we can expect the Japanese automaker to offer the ‘Sport’ badging on the inside and a dominant use of the colour black in the cabin.

Standard redi-GO 

We can expect Datsun to introduce this ‘special’ variant for the top-spec redi-GO only. Also, one can expect an estimated price hike of around Rs 20,000 – 25,000 on the ongoing model. Keep reading this space to know more about the redi-GO Sport!
