A recent piece of news has given us an inkling of the impending launch of Honda City facelift during mid-December. As a part of stock clearance to accommodate the new City at the showrooms, the Honda dealers are offering discounts at various sales outlets on the City sedan in the range of Rs 70,000- Rs 1 lakhs. A similar strategy seemed to work with Honda Jazz, finding it an easy way to achieve the top sales figures.

Honda Siel cars is not facing any hardships while offering these lucrative discount as one would think. The localised production of the Honda City sedan has translated to be huge discounts the company is offering. Therefore, in simple terms the auto major is passing on their profits to ramp up the sales of the sedan. The City sedan, which is sadly offered only in an all-petrol variant has been the only drawback with a majority of consumers getting attracted to the diesel cars of late. However, with the large discounts, the company has managed to revive the demand for Honda City making it the top-selling sedan in the past few months.

But, one cannot expect the same discounts in the future Honda City version. The 2012 Honda City price is most likely to continue at stipulated tag of Rs 7.49 lakhs, if not more. Hoping that Honda City fans will not let the sedan down, just because a CNG/LPG or a diesel variant is absent in the car. As with the new Honda City, which was spotted yet again only recently, one can mostly boast about the cosmetic changes in the car. The fascia of the car has been mostly worked upon with redesigned grille more prominent and similar changes reflecting in the bumper design looking more filled with character now. The 1.5 L petrol engine is where the auto major is quite content with, without introducing any changes in that department.
