The much awaited Electric Car will be out on sale soon by Nissan and General Motors. The Electric Car is a battery operated car which is preferred mostly for shorter distances. The car is proving a survival for the environment and is expected to be a major leap in the auto motive industry.
But there are few big questions which are posing in the market. As per the research, from, J.D. Power & Associates, the new car flash may fade away soon.
The electric cars are technologically advanced and environment friendly but as per the research it is sure to disappoint the car admirers. The car will be unveiled in the coming auto shows is sure to give the buyers technical concerns and worry about the substitute fuel option.
Another big anxiety among the buyers is of the cost. Well, everyone is bothered about environment but the money they have to shell for the electric car is too much in comparison to the combustion-engine. Another concern which is hovering in the market is that there has not been a unreasonable hike in the gas or fuel prices which might create a whirlpool of demand for battery operated cars.
By year end, Nissan Motors is planning to sell the battery operated electric car Nissan Leaf, mid sized sedan. General Motors is speculated to launch its Chevrolet Volt, which will be powered with electric motor and petrol engine (petrol engine is the backup option if battery runs out of power).
As per J. D. Power, it is predicted that the combined sales in the world market of hybrid-electric wheelers and electric cars run over battery wheelers to touch a mark of 5.2 million auto mobiles by 2020. If counted, the sales are expected from the eco friendly car to be 70.9 million or 7.3 % in 2020.
Nissan Motors have also started research work on the battery operated cars. The world renowned company plans to fund the research work of the engineering students from IIT M. This new venture of the company will earnestly have research in areas such as engineering, management, social science and more. This is the first time Nissan, is helping with the financial aids and also wishes to train the talented research scholars at the RNTBCI. The projects will be selected by a rigorous process by Nissan experts and IIT M experienced educators.
General Motors are enjoying an all time high in the market. From the hatchbacks to luxury sedans all have a high demand in the market. The company registered growth of 13 per cent in 2010 as compared to last years graph. The company has always provided quality and satisfaction to its customers and completed its successful seven glorious years in the Indian market.
