Exclusive: 2015 Ford Figo Spotted at Dealership

Ford is gearing up to launch their debutant compact sedan - Figo Aspire in the first half of August, but we have the first clear spy shots of the next-gen Figo (inside-out) - can it repeat the success of the outgoing hatch?

2015 Ford Figo has been spied undisguised at some dealership in Rajasthan. The hatch will be launched a couple of months later after the Figo Aspire’s launch next month.   

What it Offers  

• The front fascia is similar to the Aspire till the rear door, however, the taillights feature subtle resemblance

• Unlike Figo Aspire, Figo offers all-black interior with silver accents in the same dash layout
• The spied model is the top-end Titanium model featuring the Ford’s 4.2-inch SYNC infotainment system with AppLink
• Like the Aspire, the hatchback also features automatic climate control unit

• Apart from it, the rest of the dash is same as the Aspire and its Brazilian counterpart - KA
• The alloy pattern is also same as the Aspire, expect 14-inchers and this is the Sparkling Gold color which will be also offered in the Aspire
• Expect dual airbags as standard in the Figo like the Aspire, Titanium+ will also feature segment-first 6-airbags like the compact sedan

Engines?    

The 2015 Figo hatchback will be powered by the same set of engines powering the Aspire compact sedan. And like the Aspire, the 1.5-liter Ti-VCT 4-cylinder petrol with 6-speed dual-clutch automatic might also find its way in the hatchback, although, the possibilities are low.  

1.2-liter Ti-VCT -  Heavily modified version of the Figo’s 1.2 Duratec motor. The 4-cylinder block gets independent variable valve timing for both intake and exhaust valve; the motor now generates 88 PS @ 6300 rpm and 112 Nm @ 4000 rpm of peak torque and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission

1.5-liter TDCi - It is expected that Figo will also get the uprated 1.5-liter TDCI diesel with 10 PS power and torque bump, the oil burner now generates 100 PS @ 3750 rpm and class leading torque of 215 Nm @ 1750 - 3000 rpm of torque. The power is sent to a 5-speed manual gearbox and it returns an impressive 25.83 kmpl in the Aspire compact sedan.

1.5-liter Ti-VCT Petrol with 6-Speed DCT -  The motor produces 112 PS @ 6300 rpm and 136 Nm @ 4250 rpm of max twist in Aspire. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
