Hyundai won’t be offering the diesel engine with an automatic gearbox.
The third-gen Hyundai i20 will be launched on November 5. It will be sold with three engine options: two petrol and a diesel. The turbo-petrol and diesel are new to the nameplate, while the naturally aspirated petrol has been carried over. We have now got our hands on the engine-wise ARAI certified fuel efficiency figures which are as follows:
-
1.2-litre manual- 21kmpl
-
1.2-litre CVT- 19.65kmpl
-
1.0-litre turbo-petrol iMT (clutchless manual)- 20kmpl
-
1.0-litre turbo-petrol DCT- 20.28kmpl
-
1.5-litre diesel Manual- 25kmpl
The most fuel efficient model is unsurprisingly the new diesel, followed by the manual 1.2-litre petrol. The DCT (dual-clutch automatic) equipped 1.0-litre closely matches the certified efficiency of the 1.2-litre manual. The 1.2-litre petrol with CVT is the least fuel efficient here.
