Fiat at 2016 Auto Expo: What's in Store?

Update: Fiat has launched the Punto Pure at a price of Rs. 4.49 lac (ex-showroom) at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo. It has also revealed its remaining lineup at the event. The carmaker showcased the Wrangler Unlimited, Grand Cherokee and its SRT version, all of which are expected to be launched in second quarter of 2016.
Fiat is all set with its line up to be showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Italian carmaker is likely to display 2016 versions of its existing cars like Punto Evo, new Linea and Avventura. It will also launch the much awaited Punto Pure and the whole Jeep line up including Wrangler and Grand Cherokee. We have briefly described each one of them in the below paragraphs.
Punto Pure
The much awaited ‘original’ Punto is likely to be offered with three engine options viz. 1.3-litre diesel, 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre petrol mill. The most powerful engine, 1.4L petrol will be delivering 90 bhp of power, which will help it rival premium hatchbacks like Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo, and Maruti Baleno.
Jeep Wrangler
One of the most talked-about cars of Jeep, Wrangler, will come powered by a 3.6-litre petrol engine capable of generating a maximum power of 285 hp with a peak torque of 352 Nm. The diesel mill, on the other hand, is a 2.8-litre that produces maximum power of 197 hp with peak torque of 451 Nm. The off-roader will come equipped with features like front one-touch power windows and cruise control.
Jeep Grand Cherokee
Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the most anticipated vehicles that has been making news in India for past couple of years. This technically advanced vehicle can be lowered using the Quadra-Lift air suspension system to increase the fuel efficiency. It is expected to be powered by a 3.0-litre diesel mill churning out a maximum power of 236 bhp. It will come mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox.
Jeep Cherokee SRT
This beast will run on a 6.4-liter HEMI engine capable of generating a 475 bhp of power with a mammoth 644 Nm of torque. Inside, the center console will have an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system coupled to a 19-speaker sound system. It will also reflect the performance statistics of the SUV.
Linea 2016 (Tipo)
Next Generation Linea was first showcased in Istanbul Auto Show and dazzled the world with its flamboyant looks. The car when launched in India, would be offered with the same 1.4L petrol engine having a different tune. The mill will be able to deliver a maximum power of 145 bhp with 212 Nm of torque and will come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. With these figures, it will be the most powerful sedan in its segment. The car is also expected to carry some modifications in the suspension system.
