Fiat continues to top CO2 reduction rankings

Fiat the Italian auto giant continuous to set new benchmark in carbon di oxide reduction, as both Fiat Group and Fiat brand witnessed the lowest volume weighted Carbon dioxide in Europe. This research was conducted by JATO Dynamics, one of the most well established automotive research and consultancy firms.

The Fiat cars accounted a CO2 average of only 123.1 g/km (4.7 g/km below the 2009's average), with these promising figures the company for the fourth consecutive year is again at the top position. It is all prepared to achieve the Europe target which is 130 g/km by 2015. Fiat also acquired the top position placed among the different auto mobile companies with 125.9 g/km which has improved of five g/km when compared with the last year. These figures are for all the Fiat car brands which includes names like Maserati's high performance luxury cars and Ferrari super cars.

Fiat's environment amicable achievement is the work of its long term Italian strategy which is based on two-pronged approach: making technical solutions focused at retaining consumption and curbing emissions and also by raising the awareness of the motorist to give a more responsible, eco friendly use of its cars.

Fiat’s MultiAir, MultiJet and TwinAir powertrain are the products of its strategy with initiatives like alternative fuels (CNG Natural Power and LPG Easy Power), Start&Stop; electronic gearshift management (Dualogic robotised transmission), electronic traction management (Traction Plus) and Fiat’s eco:Drive, the software in car which can analyses the car driver's behaviour and also suggest him the ways to improve the driving.

Elena Bernardelli, marketing director, Fiat Group Automobiles UK and Ireland said that each year Fiat is increasing its strength in fuel consumption reduction and respecting the environment. It is highly satisfying to stand at the first position for the fourth year in a row. Bernardelli also added that each auto mobile the company manufactures is making contribution in lowering the emissions and is playing a vital role in making the world a better place to live.
