Fiat Grande Punto in this year second half

Fiat Automobile India Ltd is firmed to roll out its hatchback Grande Punto in the second half of the current year. The company has set up a 50:50 joint partnership between Fiat S.p.A and Tata Motors. It is widely believed that the car will be launched in petrol and diesel versions. It is also learnt that there will be three variants- Active, Dynamic and Emotion. The Active, Dynamic and Emotion variants will be equipped with a 1.2L petrol engine, a 1.4L petrol engine each, respectively. The diesel version of the car will come along with a 1.3L multi-jet diesel engine. The Fiat Grande Punto could be priced between an estimated Rs. 4.5 lakh to Rs. 6 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai price), while the diesel version is expected to cost between Rs. 5.25 lakh to Rs. 6.5 lakh. The company plans to manufacture the 5-door compact car from its state-of-the-art facility at Ranjangaon near Pune in Maharashtra, just like the Fiat Linea. The premium hatchback may feature 60-70 per cent localization at the initial level which is to be increased in phased manner.
