Fiat to increase price of Punto and Linea model from next year

Fiat India a subsidiary of Italian automobile manufacturer Fiat announced today that it is going to increase prices of two of its car models, Fiat Linea and Fiat Grande Punto. According to the company the price can go up by 2-2.5 per cent due to increase in the cost of the inputs. The new price will be effective from January 1 next year according to the press release issued by the company here. The prices of the model will increase by Rs 15,000 on an average and upto Rs 25,000 for some of the versions as statement given by the company. Fiat also added that the prices of the Fiat Palio Stile will remain same as before. According to Mr Rajeev Kapoor, Fiat, CEO and President the input material costs have gone up substantially and without wanting to burden its consumers too much, the cars will now be available with a price increase of 2-2.5 per cent. The Fiat Linea and Fiat Grande Punto continue to be two of the most attractive models in their respective segments. According to the company 12,000 units of Fiat Linea have been sold since its launch in January and at the same time more than 9,000 units of Fiat Grande Punto have been sold since its launch in June.
