Ace commercial vehicle maker Force Motors recently launched the top-end 'LX' variant of its SUV- One at INR 13.98 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). And today, the manufacturer has commenced its deliveries. In 2011, Force Motors re-entered the passenger vehicles segment with the launch of the One SUV. The EX and SX trims were later on added to the line-up and also a top-of-the-line variant was announced at that time, but it took quite a time for the highest trim to see the day's light.

Force One LX

The only four-wheel-drive option in the entire line-up, the One LX, comes equipped with a Borg Warner four-wheel-drive system with electronic shift that allows the driver to switch between two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive even when on the move.

Force One LX

The Force One LX is powered by the same BSIV compliant, Mercedes-Benz sourced four-stroke 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel unit mated to a five-speed manual transmission with synchromesh and dual mass fly wheel. This engine pumps out 139bhp of max. power and 321Nm of top torque.

Force One LX

Available only in a seven-seater option, the One LX will share most of its feature list with the ones found on the sibling SX, including projector headlamps with DRLs, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), a 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth, alloy wheels and leather upholstery.

The SUV measures 4860mm X 1780mm X 1935mm and has a wheelbase of 3025mm with a ground clearance of 145mm. The LX comes with discs in the front and drums at the rear. The SUV gets an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD).

This big, blunt and bulky SUV comes loaded with features, and now gets the option of four-wheel drive as well. In terms of cabin quality, the SUV lacks that top-notch feel and holds a space for a lot of improvement. But, the ride quality and the grip of the SUV is worth mentioning. At INR 14 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), the One competes with the likes of Mahindra Scorpio and Tata Safari Storme. Although the SUV is a good overall preposition, but for a relatively unknown 'Force' badge (atleast in personal vehicle arena), the price can be a concern.
